I have always loved drawing and painting. My parents saw the artist in me ever since I was a little girl. So I was always enrolled in some art class or the other. I continue my artistic streak. Here is a glimpse at some of my recent work.
The paintings below are inspired by original works of Jamini Roy. I painted them in shades of green and pink to match the color scheme of our apartment.
My husband and I made these at a painting class.
My preview as an artist would be incomplete without the honorable presence of the namesake of my blog. Presenting peacocks and their feathers…
A pair of paintings custom-made for my living room.
I would love to someday have my own line of wallpaper. One of my ideas is the Bindi wallpaper. Bindis are forehead jewels worn by women in India. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors and designs. Here is a draft of one possibility made with colored pencils.
Similar to Jamini Roy above, I absolutely adore the works of Abdul Rehman Chughtai. My next project is to create paintings inspired by his work.
