The Holiday Bar Cart

As the holiday season is well underway, I have decided to build upon my beloved bar cart.

The first of my acquisitions was The Knotted Branch Bar Tools set from Anthropologie. This includes a jigger, bar spoon, bottle opener, and citrus  peeler/zester.  The owl is a real cutie.

My cousin brought us a wooden muddler from Brazil, traditionally used for making caipirinhas. It’s an honor for such an authentic instrument to grace our bar cart.

I wanted to get a matching cocktail shaker and strainer. After extensive research, I decided to go with the hammered copper shaker from Target.

When this arrived, it came without the top. So Target was kind enough to send us another one – the Cambridge Kerry Etched Copper 24 oz Cocktail Shaker.

Since yellow metals seems to be the theme, I want to add trendy copper and brass items to add gilded glamour. First is the Jade plant (also known as crassula argentea). The copper vessel the clay planter is housed in was a Illume Cyprus candle in a previous life.

Our green friends are a perfect compliment to the metals as they each bring out the best in each other. It the perfect relationship of harmony. To build on this, some flowers are needed for a delicate touch.

Together the copper-brass symphony would look something like this.

We have descended from Mexico with not only renewed love of tequila, but a newly found affinity towards mescal. We brought back the following two exclusives from Mexico: Tequila Esperanto and Xure Mezcal.

Here is the final product –

I added table linens to the bar cart to give the glass tiers a different look. I chose green as it goes well with the metals and the color matches my glassware and stemware collection.

What’s an amazing bar cart without the concoction of amazing cocktails. Here they are. Cheers.
